EDFI Data Dashboard 2.0 released
Adds 2024 EDFI portfolio data, expands health sector insights.
BRUSSELS, 30 September 2026 – The Association of European Development Finance Institutions (EDFI) has updated its Data Dashboard to make the platform an even more practical tool for grasping where and how European DFIs invest in emerging markets and developing economies. The latest version adds 2024 portfolio and new investment information, giving users a more up‑to‑date picture of the scale, direction, and make‑up of EDFI member activity.
Expanded data coverage
The dashboard combines nine years of investment data from the 15 EDFI members into a single interactive platform, transforming more than 60,000 records into insights that support analysis, dialogue, and decision‑making. With the 2024 update, the tool provides an aggregated view of an EDFI portfolio alongside pre‑2024 data and new commitments figures that help follow recent trends in a longer‑term context.
EDFI CEO David Kuijper said: “By bringing together tens of thousands of comparable data points – from a €59 billion portfolio to country‑level and DFI‑specific information – the dashboard gives stakeholders a single place to understand where European DFIs are deploying capital and what that means for development outcomes.”
Streamlined access to underlying data
The update also brings a more streamlined process for accessing the underlying downloadable dataset. Available to Power BI Pro users, and upon given approved access rights, this feature makes it easier for users to export selected data directly from the dashboard interface. Clearer access instructions now in the accompanying Guidance Note help users more swiftly understand dashboard functionality, definitions, and methodology.
A new “Health Tag” enables users to identify investments that support health-related outcomes, including improved access to health services and products. This add‑on responds to growing interest in how development finance supports resilient health systems, access to essential services, and private sector solutions in challenging markets.
Consolidated view of European DFI activity
Hosted on the EDFI website, the dashboard provides a consolidated view of European DFI investments and helps users explore trends across regions, sectors, instruments, and policy priorities. It complements dashboards published by individual DFIs by offering a consolidated view of the EDFI portfolio in a single platform, enabling users to compare institutions using consistent data and methodologies while highlighting the role of European DFIs within the European Financial Architecture for Development.
More than 5,000 unique visits have been logged to the Data Dashboard since launch in September 2025, reflecting strong demand for transparent, comparable investment information. In 2024 alone, EDFI members recorded new investment commitments of €11.98 billion, with 1,029 new transactions financed across emerging and developing markets, which users can explore through the dashboard to better understand investment trends, priorities, and areas of growth across regions and impact themes, also by segmenting by impact theme or country..
Kuijper concluded: “By making comparable, aggregated investment information easier to access and interpret, we aim to support more evidence‑based dialogue between DFIs, public institutions, investors, and development partners working to mobilise private capital where it is needed most.”
